The 51st Quad Cities Criterium will be held on Memorial Day, May 30, 2016 in the Village of East Davenport by the Quad Cities Bicycle Club.

Racing for the Bissell-ABG-Giant team, Josh Johnson, age 24 of Ft. Wayne, Indiana has notified Tom Schuler, Race Director that he is returning to the Quad Cities Criterium to defend his 2015 Men's Pro 1st place finish. Josh tells Tom "I'm excited to be back for another year and we'll have an even stronger overall presence with a 6 rider crew, as opposed to the 4 riders that we had this past year."

Our 2016 Criterium Host Housing signs are in. They'll look great in your front yard. Host racers at your home on Saturday, May 28 and/or Sunday, May 29 and you too can be the envy of your neighborhood.

Registered Pro/Cat 1 and Cat 2 male and female racers should also contact Janette to request host housing accommodations.

The upcoming 2016 QCBC Criterium will be held on Monday, May 30 and we are adding a new feature that will hopefully attract more race teams. In conjunction with the Melon City Criterium in Muscatine, we are looking for host families to house both men and women racers who will travel to Iowa in May for one or two days of bike racing. Host families would house racers on Sunday, May 29 for our local Criterium and if possible, on Saturday, May 28 for the Muscatine race.

The 51st Quad Cities Criterium will be held on Memorial Day, May 30, 2016 in the Village of East Davenport by the Quad Cities Bicycle Club (qcbc.org). Tom Schuler, Race Director confirms that "Racing will begin at 9AM for the Junior racers aged 9-14. After another eight exciting amateur races featuring local and Midwest licensed racers, the Kimberly Crest Veterinary Hospital Pro Women's race starts at 2:30. A crowd favorite, the Koehler Electric Kids Race starts at 3:30. I am thrilled to announce that at 4:00 we will run the first ever Healthy Habits Faterium Race featuring dozens of fat tire bicycles. The final race of the day features the Pro Men competition."

Also new for 2016 is the Quad Cities Criterium T-shirt design contest. Flyers have been sent to local schools with an April 1 submission deadline. First prize is $300 with $150 for the runner-up. Details can be found here.
